BHC SHOWCASES AT KGALAGADI SOUTH AGRICULTURAL SHOW

Date:
02 Aug 2019
The Corporation through Marketing Department took time to participate at Tsabong Agriculture Show which was held this past weekend under the theme: Enabling food security through profitable communal farming practice.

BHC found it fit to attend the event with the main objectives of educating Batswana on products and services offered by BHC, also to promote recently delivered projects like Tati Siding and Tutume and ongoing projects like Tonota, Tsabong and Tsholofelo 264.

This year’s show was officially opened by Dr. Benjamin Ditsele on behalf of the CEO of Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board (BAMB). Dr. Ditsele encouraged farmers to take farming seriously as it is one of the greatest source of income in Botswana, he requested farmers to take advantage of trainings at Lobu Farm which are based on small stock production and breeding, he also shared that the Ministry of Agriculture Development and Food Security has introduced drought subsidy on slaughter prices at all BMC abattoirs which is P3/kg.
He therefore advised farmers to sell their livestock at BMC rather than to wait for drought season.

Tsabong show attracted a few number of Parastatals, Financial institutions, Private sectors, Government ministries and community compared to last year’s show which had a great turn up. The event presented a great platform to market Tsabong project which is currently on its early stage of construction, through interaction with customers they showed keen interest on buying when the project is complete.
